동명사 (ing)

동사에 ing를 붙여 동사를 명사로 바꾸는 것을 의미

 

 

 

 

주어 : ~하는 것은, ~하기는

*주어로 사용할때는 동사를 무조건 단수 취급!

 

ex) Studying english is easy.

     Reading books is fun = To read books is fun

 

 

 

보어 : ~하는 것이다

 

ex) My hobby is surfing the Internet.

     Your job is taking care of children = Your job is to take care of children

 

 

 

목적어 : ~하는 것을, 하기를

 

ex) Jane enjoys eating French food

     I finish reading the book

 

 

 

전치사의 목적어 : ~하는 것을, 하기를

 

ex) I am fond of reading books

     Thank you for telling me the news

 

 

 

 


 

go~ing : ~하러가다

 

ex) have to go shopping this afternoon

    They often go fishing

 

 

 

be busy ~ing : ~하느라 바쁘다

 

ex) She is busy practising for the school concert

     She is busy writing letters

 

 

 

spend 시간/돈 ~ing : ~하는데 시간/돈을 쓰다

 

ex) She is spent money in doing the laundry

     I have spent time doing a trivial task

 

 

 

have trouble/difficulty ~ing : ~하는데 어려움을 겪다

 

ex) We have trouble getting staff

     Teenagers often have difficulty expressing themselves

 

 

 

keep/stop/prevent A from ~ing : A가 ~하지 못하게 하다

 

ex) This can prevent air from flowing freely to the lungs 

     She tried to stop herself from crying out

 

 

 

look forward to ~ing : ~하기를 고대하다

 

ex) I look forward to hearing from you

    I look forward to beginning work on April 28

 

 

 

be used to ~ing : ~하는데 익숙하다

 

ex) He is used to being recognized in the street

    She is used to dealing with all kinds of people in her job

 

 

 

be used to V : ~하기 위해 사용되다

 

ex) This drug is used to lower blood pressure

     The test is used to diagnose a variety of diseases

 

 

 

used to V : ~하곤 했다 (과거엔 o 현재는 x)

 

ex) We used to live in London

     I used to play here as a boy
